The National Family Medicine Board Review Course

44 Lectures

WHAT IS THE PRIMARY GOAL OF THE COURSE? The goal of the course is to teach the core database of family practice and enable participants to retain what is taught. The course developers know the difference between a standard review lecture and information that participants learn and retain, especially when it comes to providing the essential information needed to pass an examination. The NFMBR course is exclusively focused on this goal. It is not a general review course. It is not intended as a course for clinicians who want to transition into family medicine. Its uniqueness is the result of this clear focus.

The focus of the course -- to enable participants to pass their exams -- drives the content. No "nice to know" material is covered, no avant-garde or non-standard therapy is included, no fluff. Only factual, black-and-white, "core content" information is covered -- strictly "bread and butter" information of the type you will find in exam questions.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL RECEIVE WHEN YOU ATTEND THE COURSE Instruction by a small, select cadre of full-time family medicine educators/clinicians. These clinicians have been specially chosen for their ability to communicate and their knowledge and enthusiasm for the specialty. A focus on material likely to be covered in the exams -- no "fluff" or "nice to know" material to distract from retention of core material. A concise syllabus designed for rapid review and easy retrieval of key concepts and essential information. The syllabus contains more than 600 board-type questions focused on the most important information covered, and the course includes two comprehensive "tag team" evening review sessions. A detailed session on strategies to help you optimize your test-taking skills. In addition to being approved for 41 AMA PRA Credits™. the National Family Medicine Board Review course has been approved for 78 AAFP Prescribed credits, with 37 conforming to AAFP criteria for evidence-based CME clinical content.
