Given annually in New Orleans, Critical Concepts in Emergency Medicine is designed to provide an update on current practices and new concepts in everyday emergency care situations. After participating in this continuing medical education activity, attendees should be aware of recent developments in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions seen daily in the emergency room.
Participants should also be able to identify recommendations based on evidence that is accepted within the profession of medicine as adequate justification for their indications and contraindications in the care of patients and to identify scientific research referred to, reported or used in support as justification of a patient care recommendation that conforms to the generally accepted standards of experimental design, data collection and analysis.
