8. How do I know my system will be compatible before I purchase?

Selectedpresentations.com uses recognized web browser standards that are platform independent. If you have the latest version of Quicktime Player installed (currently 7.x) you should be able to view all of our content. You can download the latest free version here. If you can view the video content at the Quicktime site, you will have no problems with our service.
We recommend a high speed internet connection (ie DSL, cable modem, or T1) to be able to view our lectures with the best quality.
Go to the new user section (top tab from homepage) and try the sample content. There you will find sample Quicktime movies and audio content. There you will see a sample that you can also view for compatibility.

10. I can see video but cannot hear any sound.

Can you hear audio in other programs (ie music programs etc)?
Ensure that the volume of your speakers is turned up and that the computer control panel for sound shows that the volume is up. Also look at the controller for the Quicktime player and ensure the volume is turned up (volume control is on the bottom left of the movie).
Ensure you have Quicktime player 6.5 or later installed. An earlier version may allow video playback without sound.

11. I am flying on a plane and I want to view the lectures that I purchased on my laptop during the flight. Can I do this?

YES. Though the web based system will not allow you to copy the files to your hard drive (for duplication), the lectures are actually stored in the computer memory. Follow the below steps to view lectures when not connected to the internet:
1. Purchase the lecture
2. Start viewing the lecture on your computer
3. Watch the the horizontal progress bar at the bottom of the movie and you can observe the lecture downloading in the background as the lecture starts to play
4. When the lecture has fully downloaded it is stored in RAM memory. (this will take a few minutes) At this point do NOT close the web browser window you are viewing in. (You many minimize it though)
5. Close your laptop and put it in sleep mode (do NOT shut down the power to the computer)
6. Get onboard the aircraft (or wherever) and open your laptop
7. The movie will be present and ready for viewing as many times as you want as long as you do not close that window
